Today I’m giving thanks for Casey Allen.
I first met Casey Allen at The Third Place early in 2010. We were both relatively unknown in the Twin Cities startup community at the time. In the coming years, we met up several times – especially at various tech/startup events in the community.
In mid/late 2012 as I was kicking off fundraising, Casey approached me to let me know he was launching the Skyway Fund and that he wanted us to be the first investment. He represented the second official commit for the round – and the first commit after a repeat investment from the backer of my first startup. It was a significant milestone for me at the time.
The rest of the round came together quickly and Casey was helpful with introductions and pitch advice along the way.
In the coming years, Casey was a good sounding board and also helpful in introducing me to some key early hires. These days, I’ve been excited to see him grow both his conference – Enterprise Rising – as well as his family.
Minnesota is fortunate to have such a vocal proponent and active connector within the startup community.
Casey- I’m honored that you kicked off our first fundraise and honored to call you friend.
