Today I’m giving thanks for five people in one post to show the power of community.
The first three years of the business were primarily conducted out of three different coworking spaces, after “graduating” from working out of coffee shops. Coworking was a relatively new phenomenon in 2010.
The first coworking space I worked out of was The Third Place, which was operated by Josh Becerra, Colin Hirdman, and Zack Steven. They did a great job of creating a welcoming community for entrepreneurs and independent creators.
A frequent “coworker” of mine at the Third Place was Peter Fleck. Peter was helpful in a number of ways- one of which was suggesting I reach out to Ed Kohler who was working at WhereToLive.com at the time.
Ed responded to my cold email, met me for coffee, gave me a lot of advice on the residential real estate tech industry, and ultimately suggested that one of the most important people I needed to meet locally was Marshall Saunders.
Josh, Colin, Zack, Peter, and Ed- thank you for your generosity of time and connections. You’re all great examples of reasons I love the Minneapolis/St. Paul community.
