Today I'm giving thanks for Greg Robertson.
When it comes to independent software vendors servicing residential real estate – and especially the MLS and agent markets – Greg is the OG.
My first regret with Greg is that I didn’t proactively get to know him sooner. We knew of each other and were at many of the same conferences and parties but it wasn’t until 2016 or 2017 that we started to spend a little more time together.
As I got to know him, Greg was generous with his time and he had various ideas for HomeSpotter to improve. Unlike some vendors I was also collegial with, he rarely saw things as a zero sum game… there’s room for us all to win.
My second regret with Greg is that I wasn’t quicker to raise a growth round at HomeSpotter... I had hoped to use that as momentum to then convince Greg & his co-founder Dan to merge. They had figured out go-to-market on MLS and agent and we had more experience with brokerages. We both valued clean, beautiful UX – and they had proven that out on web/desktop, while we had on mobile.
But ultimately, that story has a different happy ending than the one I had planned; and, it's still being played out. I’m thrilled that Greg and I both joined Lone Wolf and get to work together. And there’s a lot still in the hopper from a product integration and unification perspective- Lone Wolf’s products are coming together to provide the industry’s first true end-to-end solution.
Greg- thank you for your advice, mentorship, and assistance along the way. #NGBOTFN #NGBFN
