Today I'm giving thanks for Scott Burns.
Scott was an angel investor in HomeSpotter. He’s widely known for building up GovDelivery into a behemoth before its acquisition by Vista Equity Partners / Granicus; and, more recently for founding and growing Structural.
As an angel, Scott was a significant value add. He was quick to make time in his busy schedule for me – often taking calls late at night. He was my first call any time I wanted to think through working with private equity partners. He also gave great advice on things like hiring sales leaders and leveraging acquisitions to grow.
Scott and I have an affinity outside of startups in wanting to make sure that mail to our respective homes is addressed to “Dr. and Mr.” And- he’s at the top of my list when I think of civic-minded business leaders that are committed to the growth and health of the St. Paul / Minneapolis ecosystem.
Scott- thank you for your investments in me and the community-at-large and I look forward to our continued partnership in the years to come.
