Today I’m giving thanks for several key individuals at Counselor Realty.
We¹ signed up Counselor Realty as our first larger brokerage (>200 agents). Having them on board helped us to better figure out a model where we could sell to a brokerage while also focusing on meeting the needs of individual agents at the brokerage.
I first met Mary Jo Quay at the RE Barcamp event we sponsored in 2010. She helped me to get in and do a presentation on mobile trends for a group of agents at a Counselor Realty office.
From there, Gayle Nelson and Kevin Bumgardner got me in front of their tech committee - and not long after they signed on as a client.
Over the years, I’ve met and kept in touch with other great individuals at Counselor Realty – people like Michael Hunstad and Jennipher Reichert.
Mary Jo, Gayle, Kevin, Michael, and Jennipher- thank you for your early and ongoing partnership. I’m grateful to work with you.

I’m giving thanks for 100+ days to individuals that positively impacted me or HomeSpotter’s trajectory.
¹ My father-in-law asked me in the early days, “who’s we?” Even before I had full-time employees, I always used the royal “we”. I mean – we had a handful of contractors! It just seemed appropriate. But- it just emphasizes how grateful I am to our early customers for taking a bet on me.
